Balloonacy 2010

Hold on to your virtual hat, it’s time for another round of Balloonacy, the online game devised by Poke for mobile network company Orange that sees hundreds of competitors race digital balloons across internet pages…

The first Ballonacy race took place in 2008 and saw over 40,000 people race their animal shaped, orange balloons (naturally) across more than 3000 participating websites. Actually, Balloonacy featured in the Best in Book section of our 2009 Annual.

The new race is underway (it started officially yesterday) so don’t delay – visit playballoonacy.com, choose a balloon, cut it free and start racing across the internet. First to finish the race across all the participating sites will win a luxury hot air balloon flight for four anywhere in the UK with lots of nice food too. Fastest racer overall wins an eleven night, five star trip to Kenya, including a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara. There are loads of other prizes too – see playballonacy.com for full details.

As thousands of people are already racing, you could always sign up to be a participating site across which the balloons race. That way you stand to increase your site audience by thousands, in just a few days. Here’s how the CR site might look with the balloonacy course running across it.

Go forth and may a favourable internet wind be with you!
