Art in the home of Blanca Gómez
A: Art means to me…a personal & untransferable vision of the world. Also, it has to do with beauty, somehow.
R: Reading books, blogs or magazines…I've finished the last novel of Houellebecq: The Map and the territory, and I'm starting a collection of short stories by John Waters. Also, I've been reading Chester Brown comic "Paying for it". I don't have a routine of reading blogs & magazines.
T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are…I'm not too much into graphic design right now. I see an increasing use of the illustration & handmade in graphic design, but maybe I'm not being objective, it's just the part of graphic design that relates the most to me.
A: Artists I admire are…lately, a little boy from my neighborhood that everyday draws with chalk on the floor long rows of trains. He's really amazing, and those trains make me happy when I leave home.
N: Never will I…I'm afraid I will never change.
D: Dreams for my own work are about…having a long career, and…let's see next question!
P: Projects I'm currently working on are…I'm finishing illustrating a children's book from one of my favorite writers: Gianni Rodari.
R: Relaxing I do at/when/if…when I travel.
I: Interesting art focused websites…I'm not good recalling places. The one that comes to my mind right now is, for example, Planeta Tangerina blog.
N: New in my home is…some vintage things that my mother brought me from her trip through the US.
T: Tomorrow I would like to go to…some place far away near the sea, and where it's still autumn.
S: Studio, my studio is…not my home anymore! Still, it's the place where I spend most of the hours of my days.
Thank you so much Blanca for this lovely tour of the art in your home!
