An ID class project to put yours to shame

Sculpture student Daniel Morgan is a get-things-done kind of guy. While visiting Africa as part of the Sports Ministry Outreach, a program dedicated to building sustainable villages in Africa, Morgan identified a problem he figured he could solve:

One day, while making bricks with some locals, he noticed how difficult it was to mix the damp dirt and cement with only plows and shovels. He realized that a mixer would make a huge difference.

A junior at James Madison University at the time, Morgan enrolled in an industrial design class upon his return and set himself a clear task: He was going to design a cement mixer. Then he was actually going to get it built. Then he was going to get it shipped the 7,000 miles to Uganda.
