A Heavy Duty Monitor Arm with a Nice Little UX Touch

Now that widescreen gaming monitors have grown to ridiculous proportions…

…monitor arms need to catch up. This Magnus Heavy Duty Monitor Arm, by computer gaming accessories company Secretlab, fits the bill. Made of aluminum, it will support up to 57″ monitors, up to a whopping 35 pounds in weight. Handles allow you to tilt the screen up to 20°, and rotate it up to 90°.

A nice little UX touch is hidden away at the back. This visual indicator lets you adjust the tensile spring mechanism without overtightening (and possibly damaging) it. The idea is for you to hit that sweet spot where you can raise or lower the monitor effortlessly.

I don’t know how many of you are “user manual nerds,” but I’m also impressed with the clarity of illustrations and explanations in the installation manual. You think ID is thankless work, the folks who do the manuals never get any love.

These run $350.
