Celebrating their 50th anniversary, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile dwarfs every other cities attempt to host a comparable design week event. Stronger than ever, we’ve always had a soft spot for the Salone Satellite (the young designers section) and despite the gloomy economic climate of recent years, or perhaps because of it, things felt lighter this year with basketwork, warm woods, and soft textiles appearing all over the place. Singapore’s Design Facility captured the mood best with their paints which are applied by blowing bubbles or exploding soft fireworks—awesome!
