Microsoft's Xbox Adaptive Joystick
Posted in: UncategorizedHere’s a handsome and inclusive piece of industrial design. Microsoft has unveiled their Xbox Adaptive Joystick, designed for players with limited mobility. It features a single thumbstick, four buttons beneath it and two trigger buttons on the front.
The buttons can be remapped, and the files for different 3D-printable shapes for thumbstick toppers will be made available for download.
While it’s not shown in the photos, production units will reportedly have a threaded insert, so it can be mounted on a tripod, arm or similar.
They’ve also designed the packaging to be easy for those with limited mobility to open:
Microsoft says these will hit the market next year and retail for $30.
