MASS MoCA is seeking a Director of Design wwho will work closely with their staff and visiting artists to manage all aspects of the MASS MoCA brand including catalogs, merchandise, wayfinding, website, exhibition collateral (including vinyl), live events and development.
The ideal candidate must match a high standard of design with pragmatic know-how and the ability to triage and work efficiently. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to negotiate skillfully with vendors to ensure best possible pricing are crucial. Successful candidate will enjoy a hands-on approach to completing projects in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must maintain a consistent level of quality and foster professional development for small design team including initiating critiques of MASS MoCA design work to drive successful design systems.
