LinkedIn Adds New York-Based Editor

Last fall, Digiday suggested that Dan Roth is “the most powerful editor in business publishing.” This week, the LinkedIn executive editor has added several more journalists to the power team.

MayaPopeChappellLinkedInPicCaroline Fairchild, San Francisco-based new economy editor, and Ramya Venugopal, a senior editor who will work from Bengaluru, India, start in May. But already attached to the Empire State Building group here in NYC is Maya Pope-Chappell (pictured), an editor focused on education and millennial content. She was previously with the Wall Street Journal’s Hong Kong bureau.

In a statement to FishbowlNY, Roth said he couldn’t be more excited about these latest additions.

“We’ve now got amazing editors across the U.S., in India and in Australia and will continue to expand in Europe and beyond as we pursue our goal of making all of the world’s professionally relevant content available on LinkedIn,” he said. “Caroline’s a daily read of mine; Ramya is a well-known figure covering the Indian economy and start-up world; and Maya has her pulse on what’s being shared and talked about in the business world. Publishers and professionals will continue to benefit by having this team creating, curating and encouraging global articles, videos and shares.”

There are more than a dozen editors on staff in New York, home base for both the global editorial team and the video content production side (a.k.a. LinkedIn Studios). Recently, our sister blog Lost Remote reported on a bit of Super Bowl content that emanated from the latter.
