Flipper-inspired Speed Boat

Throughout history humans have looked to dolphins with awe, envy & inspiration because of the animal’s speed & strength in the oceans. In this stunning example of biomimicry, the Delfino sonic boat merges inspirations from both dolphins & Japanese trains to create a bullet-fast yet super-efficient watercraft. The “fusiform” shape is rounded at the front and slowly tapers at the tail, allowing water to flow inseparably from the front to the back. Besides the technical advantages, the aesthetic is just amazing.

Bionic Sailboat

This versatile sailboat design looks to the animal kingdom as a model for its floatation and unique wind-harnessing technique, emulating nature’s own time-tested solutions. The shape of the body takes inspiration from cetacean’s well-adapted shape to move through the water efficiently, while the dual-sail applies principles taken from seafaring birds. The “wings” tuck at the boat’s sides when not in use and can be raised quickly when it’s time to set sail.

Sailing Plane or Flying Ship?

This futuristic vessel called the Shark, is part airfoil/part speed cruiser and flies close to the water, lifted into the air by its aerodynamic hull. The wing shaped blade underneath lifts the vessel as speed increases, creating an effortless glide over high waves. Less hydrodynamic drag means low fuel consumption, higher speed, and a smoother ride. The sharp aesthetic, highlighted in Ferrari red, is sure to be a head-turner on, in and above the water.

One Stealthy Little Tender

The 7 meter D23 tender was designed with elegance in mind, focusing on simple lines & angular shapes that add to both its style & hydrodynamics. The D23′s standard teak deck, fender-style seats, carbon fiber details, & complete customizability are appealing, but the paramount innovation is the unique placement of the 175HP engine which provides the benefits of an outboard with the aesthetic & spatial advantages of an inboard made possible by a thoughtful combination of the boat’s volumes and proportions.

Ideal as a tender for mega-yachts or a water taxi at resorts, the D23 is designed for up to 6 people and offers adaptable seating and deck configuration possibilities depending on user’s needs. Just a few options include a bow capable of being closed with a sundeck, a protective and adjustable windshield, or even an option hard top or removable bikini that’s perfect for hot summer days.

A New Meaning to Seahorse

I love the idea of exotic car brands crossing over into the uncharted territory of watercraft design, and this is one beautiful example. Inspired by the 458 Italia, the Ferrari Elegante speedboat has all the style, creative flair, passion cutting-edge technology, and race-derived DNA that enthusiasts love about the brand with the prancing pony.

Classy Beast

The Dartline 60′ combines superior performance and a refined aesthetic into one dreamy powerboat that’s sure to intrigue. Aggressive shapes, lines and curves are contrasted by a clean, elegant style with impeccable attention to detail. While the perfectly polished wood and white hull/trim complete its sophisticated look, I’d love to see a meaner version in black. I’ll take one of each!

Adjustable living space at the stern, hatch-forward skylight, huge sunbathing area, space for you and 5 guests, and a max speed of 60 miles per hour…. what more could you ask for.

Pirate Ship Bedroom
