Japanese Designer Lays Claim to Title of 2 Billionth Tweet

This week, the field of design can claim it was responsible for hitting a milestone. A relatively inconsequential one at best, but a milestone none the less. A graphic designer in Japan, was responsible for the 20 billionth Tweet on Sunday, with these monumental words: “So that means the barrage might come back later all at once.” Of course they don’t mean anything out of context, because it’s simply a part of a conversation the designer was having with someone else (it’s also in Japanese, so you might have some trouble reading it), but a milestone none the less and designers can now claim it as their own. And while they’re busy claiming it, why not subscribe to our very own UnBeige Twitter feed? We will try all we can to get the 3 billionth Tweet, wherein we promise to say something maybe a little more historical-sounding and deeply resonant, like “Damien Hirst probably smells weird.”
